This is a pretty camp 3km off SHwy 1, towards the coast. Fishing boats bobbing lazily in the bay, present a picture postcard view. There are a number of camping pockets, many overlooking the bay. Brand new toilets and showers have a paraplegic suite. The new ‘state-of-the-art’ kitchen is a joy. There is a TV room available. Take time to inspect the Moeraki Boulders and the nearby seal colony, or visit the Penguin hospital. This may be the place to land that Salmon. There are 27 sites with power plus tent sites. Swiss and German are spoken by your hosts, Walter and Theresa Kiener, and Paul. Camp sites are $26 for two with or without power. |
